Panic mode.

Okay, I was really hoping that it wouldn't rain tomorrow, but it looks like 60-70% pretty much seals the deal. UGH! It is midnight and I am really worried that the games we have planned will NOT occupy a houseful of kids for 3 hours. Alright, alright...I will stop complaining just as long as you guys head over to my house as promised...yes, I am talking to you Lori & Cristina! Wish us luck or better yet, wish for sunshine!!!!

It's always good to have a back up plan. Can you whip up some slice and bake sugar cookies? Or better yet, buy a few rolls and let the kids cut (plastic knives) and decorate with sprinkles. You can also play charades (use words with a flower and pool theme). Find a chlldren's movie-preferable a new one- and pop popcorn. Pretend it's a movie theater! Make movie "tickets" out of construction paper- for fun! Hpw about a treasure hunt? Make up clues and let the kids go around the house as a group. At the end, a little package for each person!

Don't panic. The party will be a blast whether it rains or npt, I know it!:-) Make sure to wear that darling birthday apron of yours and you are set!:-) Lori

Well, today's the day--so I hope the rain doesn't start falling until the nighttime! Good luck and have fun.

PS...Lori has some great ideas to fill in the time, if necessary. Do you scrapbook? Throw some stickers on the table, get out some construction paper, and let the kids make collages! If you have time to cut out some crowns, let the kids decorate them. Make cereal necklaces out of Froot Loops, or make button necklaces. Play "Telephone." You know that one...you whisper something into the first kid's ear, she whispers into the second kid's ear, and so on...and at the end, the phrase spoken aloud probably has no resemblance to what you first said!
Got any pipe cleaners? Let the kids have fun with those.
They can 'build' with toothpicks and mini marshmallows.
Have a good time, and like Lori said...don't panic! You don't have to fill in every moment. Kids have fun just...being kids!
