June Highlights...

Except for my cousin and niece visiting, I haven't really talked about what we have been up to.

I've been enjoying some Etsy shopping.
Found this adorable pillowcase dress at FreshlyPicked. She also has a great blog at FreshlyPicked.

This cute little set that I couldn't get my girl to take a decent photo in was found at SweetBabyTot's shop. So fun.And lastly, I found this cuter than cute skirt at the LoveSeptember shop. She also has a great blog VermillionRules

I've been so happy watching the summer sky here. I have always been a cloud watcher. It relaxes me, imagine my surprise when I caught this on camera. What do you see?

LOTS and LOTS of swimming. As in, Lindsey is swimming the entire length of the pool with no stopping. Handstands, double flips and cannonballs galore. Michael is now getting better with going under and now jumps to us from the side of the pool...such an improvement. Natalie our little fish is a jumper and loves the water. It has been fun to see Tyler playing with all the kids this summer. Last year, he really wasn't having it.

Lindsey and Michael LOVED VBS. Especially Michael....he went where his big sister went, so he was big stuff.

We've caught some super sweet moments ON FILM!

And some crazy...
And some attitude. We caught up on some reading
And wore fun hats.
We crashed after spending hours in the pool in what looks like painful ways.
We thanked our friends, The Meyers, for their generous gift of hand-me-down clothes, a toy box and a HUGE amount of Polly Pockets....the girl is set. Thanks guys.
We had a good time with wet chalk. Tyler had a great time at his weeklong youth theater camp. It was High School Musical and he was a pics since the seats were so high up. He did a good job though!
On our way to pick him up from camp, it started raining and raining hard. There was hail and the car was shaking from the gusts of wind. I was worried that the kids would be frightened but this is what I found:
a boy in his raincoat when it was 100 outside...asleep.
& Natalie w/her computer hanging there.
Tyler got soaked and we got caught in between 3 washes running. It was unnerving with 4 kids safety to think about too. We got home about an hour later than we normally do. Crazy monsoon weather.

Oh yeah, there was some swimming.

Our fridge bit it and now we are on the hunt for a new one. Thankfully, we still had the old one on the porch...affectionately known as the "popsicle one".

It has been a fun summer so far...wonder what July will bring.

Good mail remembered.

We have rec'd some great good mail of the past couple of months that I forgot to mention.

When we arrived home from our Disney trip on Mother's good friend Janice surprised me with a beautiful Mother's Day card and some (much needed) yummy scented Bath and Body Works shower gels. Such a treat!

Kacey was generous enough to send Michael his very own drawing pad. Thanks Kacey! And if you haven't checked out her Doodlebugs site, you are missing out. Check it out.

The kids got a terrific box in the mail from our friends The Harmons. Books for all. Talk about perfect timing. They loved all of them, thanks guys! No pjotos because the entire time I was taking them there was no memory card in the camera....they were cute though, I swear.

I participated in a Summer Reading Swap and rec'd my box yesterday! Thank you so much Lori! I finished the reese's, but the kids helped with the Crunch and Munch. I am already half way through the were right I am enjoying it. Thanks so much!

A funk of sorts.

I don't really know what is going on with me lately. I want to blog....I have stuff to tell you, but I just don't seem to have the energy....silly isn't it? I guess all the events of the last 2 months have caught up with me/us.

So, in an effort to get out of my sorry bloggin' are some pics for you to enjoy. Totally random, all from last month.
One of the many uses for a dryer vent.
A smile.....courtesy of the last day of school. Eight grade here he comes.
The view from our front door. It makes me smile.
Our good friends, The Hartys, came into town from Oregon. The kids became quick friends.
A scene from my life. Although this was in May....this photo could really be any day.

Not the best pic of my baby....her hair is wild, she has a stain on her shirt.......but will you look at those lashes!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, my lashes are that long..I WISH!
A boy and his shadow heading into his last day of class. They had a pj party and he was set with Lightning McQueen.
Brother and sister trying out Grandpa Jim's jeep that he is fixing up. They really felt super cool in the front seats.
Teacher gifts this year. See how last minute I am? I added the ribbon in the car.
A view in Barbie's house. I found the heaps of cash laying on the living room floor to be pretty funny.

Hopefully, I will be caught up before July arrives...i might need to borrow some of Kristi's blog catchup:)

June 9th....Ariel turns 6!

On the last day of their visit, Ariel turned 6. Imagine celebrating your birthday out of town. We tried to make it special.

She had #6 cinnamon rolls.. and strawberry milk for breakfast. And Candi set her up to be a princess for the day with a flashing #6 tiara and wand. So fun.
We set up the jumping castle and I think they had a good time. It was already getting hot, so that didn't last too long.
For fun, we made animal masks with crayons and glitter.

Played twister
and Mr. Mouth(remember that game?)
She was able to open a present for Mom....a fun new leapster game.

Then it was into the pool to cool is that for an action shot?

The birthday girl requested pork chops, corn-on-the-cob, and applesauce. Is that cute or what? Here is Candi modeling the birthday apron I bought her from Sweet Funky Vintage. So sweet.
I bought one for myself too!
My Mom and Dad came to the party and brought the cake. I think my Mom did a great job with it. It was delicious too.

Of course, it wouldn't be a birthday or a party without gifts to open. We hope she liked everything and had a great birthday. We were so happy to be there to celebrate with her.

They left the next morning very, very early. We miss them so much already. Come back again real soon!
