A letter to myself

Monica had a great challenge on her blog today. To write a Dear Me letter. Let me tell you it is harder than you think....especially picking the year and if you are like me, don't want to reveal too much of yourself. I think I might do this in my journal, it is very therapeutic!

TRY IT!

Dear Me (1991),

There are so many things that I want to tell you. I always do better with lists....so here you go!

1. You are beautiful just the way you are. No, you don't need to lose more weight, you are at the ideal weight for You! Be proud of your body! Take more photos and smile! You have a beautiful smile and you will wish you had more photos later in your life.

2. It is important to be a loyal friend, but remember not every one of your friends have those same values. Those that do, hold them tight!

3. Do more for yourself, by yourself....be independent of that guy you are dating.

4. Eat healthier.....all that junk is going to catch up with you.

5. Drink more water!!! Mountain Dew is evil!

6. Save, save, save!

7. Keep your great sense of humor.....it will help you through many a tough time.

8. Use sunscreen everyday.......

9. Try new things!!!!! What are you so afraid of? You have really have nothing to worry about.

10. You can't change what has happened to you, so learn from it.

11. Don't be afraid to be who you are. You are an intelligent, kind, hardworking, gorgeous young woman.

12. Even though some people don't realize it, you are a good ____(daughter, cousin, friend, granddaughter, niece, etc).

13. Embrace this time of youth and fun, it will help you be the person you become!

Love,
Me (2007)

That was really good! I agree that it is great therapy. The year was tough for me, too. I may go back and journal more of these for other times in my past. Fun stuff!
