Valentine's Day this year.

Homemade Valentines were made....

Lindsey's class partied.
Hearts were hugged.The table was set for breakfast..

And blurry breakfast photos were taken.

We also learned

how to eat a pumpkin muffin your Grandma dropped off

while scooting.Go, very
slowly.

Monday, Michael got to celebrate with his class.....can you see the excitement?
He had a great time going through his "valentimes"........
Other noteworthy Valentine festivities
Tyler had a play on Friday...he was Charlie Brown & had 2 large parts in the play. He did a great job.
Charles made yummy Chicken Parmesan for all of us.
I watched Princess Bride & Wedding Singer....I can't stop myself. If they are on, I WILL watch.

Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper & Pepsi....my favorites. Always have been, but I have to say goodbye old friend. I love you, but

I love me more!

A little love in the air.

Heart ornaments that were on clearance @ Joann's for 75 cents fills our dining room with a little love.

Letter ornaments I got on clearance at Anthropologie for $1.50 prove that Valentine's Day is not ALL pink and red.

And there is nothing more I LOVE than playing games with Lindsey. Especially Eeboo games. The candy memory game is so much fun and you have to love Lindsey's little stash of conversation hearts that she put in an old heart tin.

Stir Crazy......

Yea, that's right! That's right! We bad!

Remember that movie.....so funny. I loved Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder together. Anyhow, their movie title & famous line are a perfect fit for my day...oh yeah, and the fact that Gene Wilder's hair resembles Natalie's in so many ways:)

After dropping off Lindsey & Tyler at school this morning....my two little sick jailbirds(they have been home for 7 days straight!) took the car hostage.

There was some serious driving moves going on.....along with some sidekick sounds.

You know, vroom, vroom, vroom.

And then it got ugly quick(this is where the," that's right, that's right, we bad" comes in). They did not want to leave the car. So, if you were anywhere near 22nd street today...the screams you heard were from my house and thankfully, none were coming from me.

Now yesterday.....yesterday there were some squeals of delight coming from me via Good mail. Good mail I ordered and extra good mail goodness just because she is super sweet.

Cristina over at Made By Crissy Mathers made a beautiful gift set of pasta, sauce and spices that I bought. And then, she surprised me with all kinds of yummy stuff. Salt-free blend, raspberry chipolte sauce, sweet and savory rub, sweet cinammon spice, dipping herbs, and mint chocolate soak.....a chocolate soak? I want to take a bath right now! She was nice enough to include some treats for the kids. Conversation hearts and chocolate lips(notice 2 missing out of the box?). Thanks Cristina! The hearts were taken away from immediately by greedy children:)

Oh, and how could I forget these yummy treats she included? She remembered how much I love her gourmet peanut butter candies and she sent me one along with some other sweet & spicy chocolate candies she made. That cup was gone about 2 minutes after I opened the box. Seriously good! Thanks for all the goodies, Cristina. It did a trapped Mom good.....

Dial M for

Monday!

For .....

Michael and his little sister having a Major cold....poor kids.

For ....

Mommy the maid........in the land of runny noses, coughing and sneezing.

For....

Mommy madness. You know what that is....."Mommy, cover me!", "Mommy, carry me!", "Mommy, hold me!", "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!"

For.....

Mountain Dew. A tall glass of sanity for me this week.

For......

Mail!!! I have a ton of mail that I need to get mailed out, but the kid's sickies has kept me from the post office. No, not only bills. Good mail too! Some mail treats will be going out to the only 3 people who answered my Muddy hair question last week too!

For...........

Made Pioneer Woman's wings for the Super Bowl.....husband is still raving about them today. I CANNOT wait for her cookbook to come out.

For.......

Monsters vs. Aliens......the kids can't wait to see it. Lucky for us we got a preview during the Super Bowl because Tyler had enough 3D glasses. I think this photo is cool....almost like it could be 3D too! Notice the patches on the wall? We finally have our living room ceiling fan on a switch, rather than an ugly swag wire hanging down...yay for projects getting completed!

For.......................

Michael's missed birthday post!!!

~~~~We all feasted on Hot Wheels(sauce and macaroni wheels....I know, I am a genius!) and round snacks(tires).
~~~~Janice was sweet enough to make his Hot Wheel cake for him.......don't you love it? The girl has skills. Thanks Janice!

~~~~After cake and ice cream(Rocky Route 66, btw), it was present and playing time. He had a great day and is already planning his next one.
Wonder what Tuesday will bring? Hopefull all things terrific, touching, and tantastic(Natalie's fantastic).
My word for 2009.
Simple.
Do.
I didn't have a word for last year....why? I procrastinated until it was too late(somewhere around May or June). Why am I doing this on February 1st? Yet again, a procrastinator.
I tend to talk about what I am going to do. Think about what I should do. Get all wishy-washy about what I am doing. Worry about what I am going to do. Then not do it because of all of the above.
This year I hope to
Do more.
Do better.
and just do "it".
After deciding my word of the year, I stepped outside of my box and invited 2 moms at Michael's preschool to meet Natalie & I at the park sometime. We will see how that turns out.
It is going to be my year.
Happiness is.....
receiving homemade birthday tags from Michelle! {Photo stolen from Jill's blog}
Aren't they wonderful? Thank you for thinking of me! My birthday getting stretched out like this has been so much fun. Thank you. And I think you need to open an Etsy shop, really, you should. These are delightful!
Also check out her amazing recipe blog at http://recipeschezmoi.blogspot.com/. To sum it up in one word.....YUMMY!
What happens when you send your kids outside without....
checking if it had rained the night before.....
The wuh-oh....we have been busted look.
"Oh no, Mommy, I am all muddy." Like I was responsible for it.
Thinking of her next move....to chase me with dirty hands and try to touch me....
all the while laughing her head off.
This one, almost got too close, almost.
I can't show any other photos due to their graphic nature....too much mud and not enough clothing. Thankfully, we were in an enclosed yard.
Can you guess how many times I had to wash Natalie's hair? Lindsey's hair? First correct guess and I will send you a good mail treat(don't worry it won't be mud!)
Friday, the 23rd.
We celebrated Michael's 5th birthday....Scavo style. With his favorite breakfast treat in the shape of a 5.And hugs from his big brother.
Sending his Daddy off to work with a smile.
And brushing his teeth like a big boy.....with one glove on???
After his fun celebration at school...they gave him a crown and everything....(Michael's words, not mine)
We had bisghetti and sauce, as evident on his face.
and some yummy funfetti cake
as evident on his face.
Next came gifts and boy, did he have fun.
Although this is blurry, it is my fave. They are all smiling and having a good time. Exactly what parties are all about!
We love you and hopefully, when I get my camera fixed there will be no more blurry photos.
