The dirty dozen.

Have you read this yet? I found it on Tangled and true, one of my favorite blogs to read. It is basically saying that if you can't afford to go totally organic to try to to go organic on the foods that have the most pesticides....you won't believe the list. I mean, there is not one item on that list that isn't a fave of my kids. We need to make some serious changes around here. Here is the link to the complete list and the reasons why. Read it, I think you might be surprised.

Random Miscellaneousness(How is that for a title?)

Lindsey received a letter from her friend, Miranda. Talk about good mail. Her letter is on her way to Miranda as I type.Speaking of good mail....look what I neglected to mention I got from my good friend, Stacy. Cool rub-ons, a Monk and Neagle cd, a canvas to monogram, a WHOLE sheet of stamps, and my favorite...a cover for my planner. Don't you love the color and pattern? Remember to check out her shop at Etsy...I Believe Designs. She has these camera straps that are so great. I have one and always get complimented on it. Check her out.

Michael hamming it up for the camera. What is so significant about the photo with him next to our filthy van? This was his 5th trip to the car! Removing all of his "special things" that he had collected. He was so cute. Huffing and puffing about all the "work" he had to do. Not mad about it, just extremely, extremely busy with it. So cute.

Charles' best friend from high school came into town to visit. While at the park the kids put together and impromptu ball game(out of town visitors and game not pictured, due to chasing 3 little ones away from wayward throws or hits). This pic of Savannah about to hit the ball just makes me smile. She just turned 13. Happy birthday to you!

While at that park we were able to catch a couple of our little lady running to me and running to hug a tree. EVERY time we are at a park, any park, she hugs the trees.

Quality car time.

Beautiful tulips my husband surprised me with.

Our St. Patrick's Day came and went with no pinches, plenty of green and lots of fun. That night our elementary school had a meeting with the school board and Tyler gave his presentation first. Yes, my Tyler stood before 6 people and gave a speech, a very good one that he wrote on his own. He basically asked them not to close the school because he still felt safe there and he was speaking for the autistic children who couldn't speak for themselves. He told them he had autism and how much the school supported him, but I loved his closing line.....Please don't close Rogers, you have so much going on here that is right and good. I still get teary eye when I think of him up there do the best he could. He tried to make eye contact with them several times and he even got a little choked up himself. There was not a dry eye in the place. I was so proud of him. He was really excited when he saw that he made the 10 o'clock news. We have a star among us.

This picture to show you that Lindsey is simply a genius. She made that cube....am I crazy to be impressed that my 5 year old drew a cube?

Caught playing "Castles and things" in his room. It makes my heart happy.

Dancing her heart out. Loving the outfit.

Saturday before Easter we had Lindsey's classmate over for a playdate. We decorated eggs, made books and had to dress-up. Cute, huh? Oh yeah, Batman was on the scene to rescue the princesses. Complete with sound effects,"Nananananananananana, BATMAN".
Have I told you lately, I love these kids of mine?

Stay tuned for Natalie's 2nd birthday post....it's only 16 days overdue.

Easter cont'd.

Natalie wearing her Eb ears that the Easter Bunny left her.....too bad I couldn't have included them in the pic:) She found 2 or 3 eggs and was done with the whole hunting for eggs thing.Lindsey started out strong, but ended up being done with it all after about 8 or 9 eggs.

Michael on the other hand, searched and searched....until every last egg was gone. He even hid them just to find them all over again. He enjoyed it so much.
Tyler found a couple for the sake of playing along with his siblings and then went in his room to check out his loot. I feel bad sometimes that the age gap is so large between them all.....

After the egg hunt, the kids and I made(besides a yummy mess)
Pioneer Woman's carrot cake. Deliciouso! If you haven't went to her site or her cooking site, you need to. The woman is hilarious and has great recipes.
Lindsey was such a patient wittle wabbit waiting for dinner and guests. Have I mentioned that she loves drawing? Every day, all day she is with her basket of art supplies and she is drawing something. I love her creativity.
Our Easter table centerpiece provided by my Aunt Pat and Uncle Rich. So sweet. Thank you.

Our little one after she woke from her nap....how do you like that hair? We were so happy that she was awake for dinner!
After dinner, the kids had fun outside.

Had to include this pic for you.....as she was getting on the playset the static electricity had her hair standing straight up. It was so funny.

Since I never seem to get good photos of our guests at dinner, I have tried to do better. Sunday, my dad and grandmother were cooperative. It was a good day.

~Happy Easter~

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday....we did over here at the Scavo house. I am only able to upload some pics, so here is my crew discovering what EB left them.

A lollipop and sunglasses are what made her happiest!
Mr. Cool at all times.......before I took this he said, "Lookin' good." The kid cracks me up.
Hope your Easter was fun and all sorts of cuteness!

Can you believe....

It's only 3 days until Easter? Found these at Home Goods and fell in love. Lindsey and Michael say that they are the Mommy & Daddy, but where are the kids?

Interesting finds...

Barbie was found with a new do in the car. I am loving the look. The new home for a skater doll and a
Weeble.
It was alternately a rocket-ship, house and a car. I am proud of her recycling mind!

Calgon.....take me away!

It has been one of those days. You know the kind....your 4 year old son has a sheet of Lightning McQueen stickers and they keep coming off and all he does is scream, no matter what you try to do for him? He is frustrated because he can't explain what he wants to me and I am frustrated because I can't figure him out! AGH! So, I did what any stressed out, dieting Mother would do. Drank a real Mountain dew and had a handful of m&m's. Now, I feel even more guilty than I did before for breaking down and running to comfort food. Michael is by far, my most challenging child. You would think that I would say that of Tyler considering he has autism, but no it's Michael. He pushes all my buttons and flips all the switches too. He is so intense. While he is intense in a frustrating, grind your teeth kind of way, he is just as intense when he is showing his love for you. Like when he comes to me and gives me his car to make me "feel better, sweetie". His hugs are heaven sent and his smile could melt ice.......wait, what was I all upset about?

A little happy.

From the past month or so.

Beautiful pink roses Charles gave me for Valentine's Day. Along with 7 dozen more!!! It was so fragrant in the house with all the red, yellow and purple roses.
This photo I caught while riding with Michael in the backseat. I think it is so cool.
Lindsey taking her pancake and wrapping it around eggs.
Blankets. Receiving blankets, throws, quilts...you name it I love them. Ask Janice she'll fill you in on that obsession. This pile was just the 3rd or 4th that I packed away from Natalie's room. Crazy I know.

Yep, Natalie is a big girl in a booster seat now. Can you tell she if very excited about it? And Fruit Loops. Need I say more?
Individual shepherd pies. Does everything just taste better in cute little dishes or what?
Happiness is......finding a cute easter dish scrubber for $.99 and finding an extra bottle of my favorite dish soap in the cupboard.
Making chocolate chip cookies with the kids. Is there anything more fun than that?

Other happy moments lately?
*Charles is on week 2 of the new job.
*He is almost done with the baseboard in the living room and hallway.
*Lindsey won a Lifeskill award at school for "No Put Downs". That makes me very proud.
*Tyler's school started a social group with 4 other boys that have autism every Thursday morning. He seems to be enjoying it and I think he feels relieved that he is not the only one.
*My father-in-law is doing really well with his chemo. He is tired alot and has lost almost all of his hair, but he is in good spirits.
*When your kindergartner comes home and says, "Mommy, I am sorry I didn't finish my lunch. I ate my sandwich, the leaves(baby spinach) and the carrots....but I couldn't eat the cookie. I'm sorry." So stinkin cute.
*When Michael tells you that you are his "favorite heart".
*Or when you look in the backseat and Michael is singing 'Bet on it' from High School Musical...word for word. Adorable. Hope I can catch that on video sometime.
*Planning for Natalie's birthday....she is going to be 2 in 6 days. I can't quite believe it.

Wow, I do have alot to be happy about! Have a great Wednesday!
