GOOD MAIL!

Since I have been gone for so long, I thought I would start by sharing my recent good mail. This is something I won from an ebay auction. It was an charity auction for the Autism Society of America. The artist is Michele Benton. I love it. It looks great in Lindsey's room and more importantly, she loves it!
Speaking of the little princess and ebay auctions, here is another item we won from a charity auction for autism from Doodlebugs
I am totally addicted to her great stuff......so it was so much fun to get this sweet thank you note in the mail from her.

I also received this super cute thank you note from Amanda. Love the vintage stamps!
I was pleasantly surprised to receive this cute thank you card from Jill with some of her "good mail" labels. Thank you Jill. Don't worry, they are being put to good use.
Natalie lucked out and got this terrific birthday gift from Stacy. The picture isn't the greatest, but it is a dress made from a pillowcase. I keep trying to post a pic of Natalie in it(because it is so stinkin' cute) but Blogger refuses me! The socks are so cute! Thank you Stacy. To top off that adorable outfit, she sent Lindsey and Natalie both headbands. They are so sweet and they stay put! .
For the girls Easter dresses, she also sent them these springy headbands. Thank you so much, Stacy. Check out all that she has to offer at I Believe Designs.
My friend, Rachel
sent me a box full of books. YAY! Something new to read. Thanks for thinking of me!

Men sometimes just do things differently.

So good at this.....
but is a little confused on this. Not only is the onesie over her pants, but it is on backwards! We had a pretty good laugh over it......she looks like a little wrestler.

A couple of weeks ago, while going through the mountain that is "our important papers", I found this little treasure. We had so much fun that day at the Pima County Fair. Notice Charles in the background? Even then, he put Tyler & me ahead of himself. He really is the most selfless person I have ever known. I love you, Charles.

Do you think the six of us will fit in one of those booths? We will have to give it a go~

I'll admit it.

I am homesick. Florida was my home for about 14 years of my life. Now that I typed that I realize that I was there less than half of my life. In about 3 years, I will have been here in Tucson for that long. With that said, it doesn't make me miss it any less. I miss my family and few friends that have stayed there. I miss the multi-cultural feel there. I miss the smell of the salt water and sand. I miss the festivals, carnivals, fairs, and other events that are going on all the time. You can never say that there is nothing to do there.
I miss Batten's Farm, a u-pick farm with the absolute best strawberry shakes ever made.
My best friend, Christine, in front of Batten's.

I miss all the hole in the wall diners, bars, and clubs. I miss Carlos & Pepe's, Brick Oven, The Crabhouse, Cafe de Paris, Le Crepe, Markham Park, Johnson Street Beach, and so much more. Hope to visit sometime soon. Whew, that was good to get off of my chest.

My two girls.

This is her smile everytime you tell her "No, no Natalie"
You know it is hot here already when you pull out the backless sunsuits!
Lindsey was actually complimenting herself in the mirror! I had to snap a pic! She said that she is a pretty, funny girl and that she did a GREAT JOB! I hope that wonderful sense of self stays with her. She is all of those things and more to us!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We started out the day with Lindsey making green pancakes, eggs, and a shamrock made out of bacon. It was fun to see her trying to find a green cup, straw, plate, etc. for the table.
After being hit in the nose by our little slugger(to his defense, they were playing ball), Lindsey very strongly insisted on getting a bandage for her nose. Luck was on our side, we had one Little Pony bandaid left.
Nothing like forgetting that you bought your 3 year old little boy a fake snake at the zoo........I jumped pretty high this time:)

After playing in the sprinklers, she needed a hug from Daddy.
Grandma & Lindsey all in green.
Lindsey just waking up and asking if she can do some more "green" stuff!

Sibling love....it does happen!

How do you like the dirty face on Michael? He enjoys the outdoors:)

Monday, March 12, 2007

Oh, where...oh, where is shadow?

Where could shadow be? Lindsey started singing that to Michael when he was making shadow puppets. I love these angles of him.

Can you tell he was annoyed about the photos?

The little lady's party

went well. Unfortunately, I can't get all the pictures up for you to see. I am seriously going to have to look into smugmug or something! I love this photo! I included the second pic mainly to show you that her foot is not as deformed as it looks in the first one. What is going on there?

Grandma Nev made two ladybug cakes....one for the birthday girl and one for the rest of us.

Enjoying all of her new presents. She received so many nice gifts. Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, cards and presents!

A year ago today....

you completed our family. Happy birthday, sweet baby girl.

Warm weather is upon us...

Sorry I have been so out of the blogging "loop" lately. We are still dealing with the constant cycle of sickness(say that 3 times fast), home improvement stuff, appointments left and right, and planning for Natalie's 1st birthday party. I'm sure it will calm down sometime, right?

"Momma" by Lindsey Scavo

I only wish my hair was this glamourous in real life!

A letter to myself

Monica had a great challenge on her blog today. To write a Dear Me letter. Let me tell you it is harder than you think....especially picking the year and if you are like me, don't want to reveal too much of yourself. I think I might do this in my journal, it is very therapeutic!

TRY IT!

Dear Me (1991),

There are so many things that I want to tell you. I always do better with lists....so here you go!

1. You are beautiful just the way you are. No, you don't need to lose more weight, you are at the ideal weight for You! Be proud of your body! Take more photos and smile! You have a beautiful smile and you will wish you had more photos later in your life.

2. It is important to be a loyal friend, but remember not every one of your friends have those same values. Those that do, hold them tight!

3. Do more for yourself, by yourself....be independent of that guy you are dating.

4. Eat healthier.....all that junk is going to catch up with you.

5. Drink more water!!! Mountain Dew is evil!

6. Save, save, save!

7. Keep your great sense of humor.....it will help you through many a tough time.

8. Use sunscreen everyday.......

9. Try new things!!!!! What are you so afraid of? You have really have nothing to worry about.

10. You can't change what has happened to you, so learn from it.

11. Don't be afraid to be who you are. You are an intelligent, kind, hardworking, gorgeous young woman.

12. Even though some people don't realize it, you are a good ____(daughter, cousin, friend, granddaughter, niece, etc).

13. Embrace this time of youth and fun, it will help you be the person you become!

Love,
Me (2007)

What we have been up to.......

A playdate with Kristina....where she had oh, so much fun!

A whole lot of crawling!
Amusing the kids in a way that only he can. 6th grade Science project..........boy, do we have a lot of popcorn to eat.
Some sauce mixing.....
and some sauce tasting.

So much has been going on here. From tearing up the master bedroom shower tile to Lindsey going to her 1st preschool birthday party at J.W. Tumbles. From Natalie dancing to Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" to Michael getting new bedroom furniture from Ikea....man, do we have a lot of assembling to do! From Lindsey staying home for 2 days with a fever to Tyler winning 2nd place in the Science fair at school....he's on his way to the city Science fair at the convention center! From Charles renting a POD(portable storage unit) to clear all our stuff out to Natalie being a constant cling-on. From finding Lindsey and Natalie VERY similar dresses at two different stores to Michael eating a little better. From Tyler winning in the lottery for a magnet school that offers drama and film-making to the kids finding a new naughty chair. It has just been crazy.....I have missed blogging. I will try to do better in the coming days. Really I will.
